The Challenge
The Challenge
Mobile advertising presents a unique set of creative constraints.
Ads are competing for attention within extremely fast-paced environments where users often decide within seconds whether to continue watching or scroll past.
The campaigns needed to:
Capture attention immediately
Communicate clearly without relying heavily on sound
Maintain strong visual readability on small screens
Stay aligned with Epic Games’ visual standards
Deliver polished animation within tight production timelines
Because the assets were designed specifically for social and mobile platforms, pacing, composition, typography, and motion all needed to be optimized for short-form viewing behavior.
Production Process
Production Process
My workflow centered around balancing high creative standards with the fast-paced production demands of digital advertising. Many projects operated on tight timelines, so the process needed to stay flexible, collaborative, and efficient without sacrificing visual quality or clarity.
Most campaigns moved through several stages of development, beginning with early concept exploration and storyboarding to establish the creative direction and pacing. From there, I developed motion studies, 3D animation sequences, typography systems, and graphic overlays that helped bring the campaigns to life across digital platforms.
Because the work was primarily designed for social and mobile advertising, optimization played a major role throughout production. Assets often needed to be adapted across multiple aspect ratios, formats, and platform requirements while still maintaining consistency in motion, branding, and overall impact. The final deliverables were built to feel polished, fast-moving, and visually engaging across every touchpoint.
Outcome
Outcome
The final campaigns delivered polished, visually engaging motion advertisements tailored specifically for mobile and social media environments.
The work helped support Epic Games’ broader digital marketing efforts while maintaining strong visual consistency with the brand’s established identity.
The project also demonstrated the importance of adapting high-quality motion design principles to performance-driven advertising formats where clarity, speed, and engagement are critical.
Reflection
Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to work within fast-paced production environments while balancing creative direction, technical execution, and marketing performance goals.
As an Art Director, it reinforced the importance of designing specifically for platform behavior rather than simply repurposing traditional advertising assets.
The experience also deepened my understanding of how motion, composition, pacing, and visual hierarchy can dramatically influence audience engagement within short-form digital advertising.
Next projects.
